Eleanor's 4 Month Check Up

I love this photo, with her little mohawk and hand on mine and flower behind her ear. And drool, because she is either drooling or eating her hands all the time.

Anyways! We had her 4 month doctor appointment today. A bit late because we waited a week to get her vaccinations last time since she had just been sick with that virus. Hard to believe that was just two months ago - feels like ages.

She is up to a whopping 14 pounds! Feels huge for our little slow weight gainer. She is perfect in every way, so it was a quick, routine visit.

I found out the little collection of red dots on her forehead is a birth mark breaking through. Apparently that happens at a certain point after birth. It should not grow too much larger and will fade over time. It is in one of the indents of her widow's peak.

I just had to go google widow's peak and read about it. If your child has one, don't do that. Especially Wiki. Ugh.

Anyways! Apart from carrying a genetic defect that is associated with villains (thanks Wiki!) she is doing great. We briefly discussed starting cereal, but since she's sleeping well there is no reason to rush. Seems like the norm for starting solids has moved to closer to six months unless there is some other reason. Cereal is so boring anyways - real food is where the fun is at!

She had to get the same shots as her last appointment and was fussy about her sore leg most of the day. Poor thing.

So here are the stats:

Weight: 14 pounds (50th)
Height: 25 1/2 inches (75-90th)
Head: 16 3/4 (75-90th)

We go back in two months for basically the exact same appointment.
